The origin of candy canes goes back to 1670, in Cologne, Germany, the choirmaster at Cologne Cathedral, wishing to remedy the noise caused by children in his church during the Living Crèche tradition of Christmas Eve. This sweet treat continues to be ever popular and is the perfect decoration for our Candy Cane birdhouse. We have made this house suitable for the holidays either in indoors or outdoors.
